Televisa Cine, the passion for producing and distributing great films during 35 years
On January 24, 1978 emerges Televicine, today Televisa Cine, and for the last 35 years, it has been producing and distributing national and international films.
"El Chanfle", by Roberto Gómez Bolaños, was the first film made in 1978-79, and up to date, more than 250 films have been made.
Currently, the company holds almost 20% of the market share and it is formed by the brands VIDEOCINE Distribución and Videocine Producción
VIDEOCINE Distribución is regarded as the most important distributor of Mexican films. It distributes proprietary films, as well as other titles by Mexican and foreigner producers.
VIDEOCINE Producción is in charge of producing and co-producing Mexican films and has carried out some major associations with some important firms, such as: Altavista films, Argos Cine, Plural Entertainment, Cinépolis Producciones, Lemon Films and IMCINE.
In the search for expanding to other markets, Televisa Cine makes strategic alliances for the production and distribution of films in the U.S., partnering with Lionsgate and creating Televisa Films
Thanks to such alliance Videocine's commercial and box-office hit movies have been distributed and produced for the Hispanic market in the U.S.
After 35 years of being created, Televisa Cine successfully contributes to the film industry's revival, and it promotes Mexico's artistic and technical development
We are constantly searching new values for creating universal stories that are interesting for all kinds of national and worldwide audiences.
