Emilio Azcárraga Jean premieres Televisa's projects for 2013

As it has been traditionally done for the last years, Emilio Azcárraga Jean, Grupo Televisa's Chairman, was interviewed during Joaquin López-Doriga's prime time newscast, in order to provide the audience with a summary of the results obtained by the company along 2012, as well as the future plans for this 2013.

"2012 has been a year of achievements and positive results for the company, and we will continue keeping contact with all our audiences in 2013" said Emilio Azcárraga Jean at the press interview.

Young People

The young people are a very important target audience for Televisa, and it is of major importance to create new projects addressed to them. Hence, in 2012  some new productions were launched, like "Sin filtro", a show aired by FOROtv; "Creadores" a co-production with the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (Mexico's National Autonomous University) and the series "Nueva Vida" which tackles topics, such as pregnancy, from different perspectives.

Sports

Great challenges are to come inside the sports area. A special and thorough coverage will be made on the most important sports events that will be held throughout 2013.

Furthermore, during this 2013, a social network platform dedicated solely to soccer called Viva Fut will be launched, which will bring the audience closer to content on this sport:  Photographs, videos, opinions on Mexican and international teams.

Telenovelas

Regarding the Telenovelas, the following projects are currently being produced: "Travesuras de la niña mala", a story based on Mario Vargas Llosa's book, as well as Xavier Velasco's best seller "El diablo guardián".

"I believe the combination of having these great novels written by Latin American writers brought to the TV screen, will be a great success", said Emilio Azcárraga Jean during the interview.

Comedy

Comedy is essential for Televisa's contents. This year we have some specific projects created by Jorge Ortiz de Pinedo, Mara Escalante and Eugenio Derbez, intended for the weekend's schedule.

Televisa - Univisión

In terms of the alliance between Televisa and Univision, Emilio Azcárraga Jean stated: "The American market is the most competed one. According to our measuring, Univision is a channel that competes well against English content channels, and sometimes Univision's channels have been placed among the top 3 channels preferred by the US audience. We are quite sure that our high quality contents can compete fairly well there".

There is a joint project with Univision and ABC news to create an English content channel which will bring many opportunities for Televisa to air projects created in Mexico.

Televisa Newscasts

Denise Maerkers's program, "Punto de partida", which is played once a week, now will be broadcasted twice: on Tuesdays and Thursdays at 11:15 P.M., right after Joaquin López-Doriga's prime time newscast.

FOROtv has been a huge platform for Televisa's Newscasts since it gives an opportunity to create new TV programs that serve as guidelines and care for the audience's needs.

"The most important and interesting thing about FOROtv is that it consolidated as a leader among newscasts channels and we can see it in the audience measuring; whenever significant news come up, people searches FOROtv to be informed on what is happening at the moment".

Social Responsibility

On the side of Social Responsibility, house-building programs, scholarship granting, nutrition and healthy life programs, as well as "Goles con causa" (goals with a cause) will continue to be carried out.

This 2013, 50 news bulletins about major national and international events occurred during the last fifty years will be produced, and the campaign ¿Tienes el valor o te vale? (Do you have the courage or not?), which is addressed to youngsters, will go on, for which three major reggaeton music celebrities will be the spokespersons.

Finally, Gabriel Figueroa's photography collection would be exhibited at the LACMA Museum in L.A.: "We are looking forward to having cultural projects in the U.S., but mostly in cities like Los Angeles which are greatly influenced  by the Mexican community", emphasized Emilio Azcárraga.
