Televisa Tradiciones

Throughout 2010 we set ourselves the goal of celebrating the Centennial Of The Mexican Revolution and the Bicentennial Of Mexico's Independence by portraying the countryside and all the spectacular beauty of Mexico... And thus Stars Of The Bicentennial showed us textures, colors and sensations that made us see our country as never before.
Now in 2011, our goal is to  pay homage to our people, to Mexicans, by capturing all the magic, all the spirituality, all the mysticism of our traditions

What are Traditions?

They're the echoes of our ancestors, songs of hope, practices passed down from generation to generation, unwilling to die.
They're the celebration of life. A way to thank our land, for our people, for the way in which we're Mexicans. And a way to feel proud of who we are as a country.
It's time to nurture the soul, to live in our traditions.

Raramuri Holy Week, in Chihuahua

At the top of a mountain, at the edge of the abyss, the sun comes out covering in its light the Tarahumara Mountains, immemorial home of the Raramuri.

The drum's echo announces the arrival of Noriruachi, the Holy Week festivity, and Raramuri men, women and children respond to calling.

It's time to nurture the soul, to experience the tradition.

Profoundly connected to divine forces, they start their prayers and processions in search of the fortitude needed to face the dark forces that disrupt universal harmony.

From the beginning of time, these forces meet, fight, confront each other in search of conciliation.

The ritual bring back peace and the hope of health and year of plentiful harvests.
